Because it is unalloyed zirconium and refined through extremely rigorous processes, it contains no intentionally added alloying elements (such as tin, niobium, iron, chromium, etc.), specifically pursuing extremely high material purity.

* Extremely Low Thermal Neutron Absorption Cross Section (Core Nuclear-Grade Indicator): As a nuclear-grade material, the most stringent requirement is the extremely limited hafnium (Hf) content (typically less than 100 ppm or 0.01%). Hafnium is a strong neutron absorber; by removing hafnium to the extreme, R60001 rods allow neutrons to penetrate without obstruction, greatly improving fuel utilization in nuclear reactors.

Peak-Level Chemical Corrosion Resistance: Because no other alloying elements are added, R60001 retains the strong corrosion resistance inherent in pure zirconium. It exhibits near-insolubility and inertness in high-temperature, high-pressure strong alkalis (such as NaOH, Na₂O₂), most inorganic acids (hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid), and organic acids.

Excellent ductility and machinability: Compared to Zr-4 (R60804) or Zr-2.5Nb (R60901) bars hardened with alloying elements, R60001 pure zirconium bars have lower hardness and excellent plasticity and toughness, making them very easy to forge, roll, turn, machine, and deep draw.

Thermal shock resistance and high-temperature structural stability: Although its mechanical strength at room temperature is not as high as that of zirconium alloys, it maintains good structural integrity and is not prone to brittleness in reducing atmospheres or high-vacuum high-temperature environments.
